Principal's Message

Welcome to The Ridge!  My name is Barry Ledford and I have the incredible honor to work alongside some of the most amazing educators in the state of South Carolina here at Catawba Ridge High School.  

At The Ridge’s core:     

We believe each student possesses the ability to learn.

We believe each student deserves a safe and supportive learning environment.

We believe communication among parents, faculty, staff, students and members of the community is essential and all are responsible for student success.

We believe each student can maximize learning through career-based educational opportunities integrated with business, government, and the community at large.

We believe in providing students with a relevant, challenging program of study.

We believe it is essential to use student achievement data and program evaluations to ensure continuous improvement.

These beliefs along with our school motto #BeTheWhy drives our decisions and our interactions with all stakeholders.  #BeTheWhy stands for being Willing to do it with all your Heart Year after Year.  We firmly stand behind the belief that if we give our all for each other then we will be unstoppable.  As principal of Catawba Ridge High School it is my goal to model #BeTheWhy for our students, our educators, our families, and our community.  

Communication is a key component to help us realize our vision and mission and I will keep our school community informed through weekly newsletters and social media (@CatawbaRidgePrincipal, @CatawbaRidge, @CatawbaRidgeNews and @CRGuidanceDept).
