Winthrop University

Teacher Cadet is designed for students interested in learning more about education.  Teacher Cadet students will receive Dual Credit – 1 high school credit on their CRHS transcript and 3 college credit hours on their Winthrop University transcript for EDUC 175.  This course includes activities, projects and observations, planning, and teaching lessons. A field experience is an integral part of the course.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

• Project-Based Learning (lots of fun projects, group-work, & activities!)
• Field experience (internship) in an elementary or middle school classroom
• Invitation to Teacher Cadet Day at Winthrop University (it’s a field trip!)
• Access to scholarship opportunities 
• AP/Dual Credit Course -- Earn college credit (& get a GPA boost!)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (B average)
• Teacher Recommendations (3) on the Google Form
